URWAY Technologies Inc. (“URWAY”) respects privacy and is committed to responsible data practices.
This Privacy Policy explains how URWAY collects, uses, stores, and discloses information through the URWAY mobile applications, website, and related services (the “Service”).
Information Collected
URWAY may collect:
Account Information
- Full name
- Email address
- Password (stored in hashed form)
- Date of birth
- If you sign in with Google or Facebook: your name, email, and that provider’s account ID
Profile Information
- Profile photo
- Bio details
- Home location (city or area, and map coordinates if you set them)
- Vehicles (make, model, year, colour, specifications)
- Maintenance logs, including notes, service location, and attached photos, videos, or invoices
- Club memberships
- Preferences (distance units, theme, notifications)
Location Information
- Precise live location while the app is open
- Precise location in the background during a drive, group ride, or rally that you start or join (shown with an ongoing notification and stopped when it ends)
- Approximate location
- Route history, saved routes, and bookmarked routes
- Completed drives and trip activity (start and finish times, distance)
Content and Communications
- Routes, checkpoints, route notes, and ratings
- Club posts, comments, and likes
- Events, RSVPs, and check-ins
- Reports and moderation submissions
- Support inquiries
Payment Information
- Card and bank details for paid club memberships and club payouts are collected and held by Stripe, not URWAY
- URWAY receives transaction records, your Stripe account ID, and payout status
Subscription Information
- URWAY Pro plan, status, and expiry date, received from Google Play or the Apple App Store through RevenueCat
Device / Technical Data
- Device type
- OS version
- App version
- IP address
- Push-notification token
- Advertising ID (used by Firebase Analytics for app analytics only; URWAY does not show ads)
- App diagnostics and crash logs
- Usage analytics
How URWAY Uses Information
URWAY may use data to:
- Operate core features, including navigation, route planning, clubs, events, and the garage
- Share your live location with the other participants of a group ride or rally you join, only while it runs
- Process URWAY Pro subscriptions, paid club memberships, and club payouts
- Send push notifications about your clubs, events, routes, and account (you can turn these off)
- Verify your email address
- Improve product performance
- Personalize recommendations
- Detect abuse or fraud
- Moderate communities
- Protect safety
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with law
- Develop analytics and business insights using aggregated or de-identified data where lawful
Sharing of Information
URWAY may share information:
- With other users: your name, photo, and bio; routes you make public; and your posts, comments, and events in the clubs you belong to. Your live location is visible only to participants of a group ride or rally you have joined, and only while it runs
- With service providers supporting operations (listed below)
- With mapping / infrastructure vendors
- With affiliated business entities
- In mergers, financings, or acquisitions
- With law enforcement or regulators where lawful
- To prevent harm or investigate misconduct
- With consent of the user
URWAY does not sell personal information and does not show ads.
Service Providers
URWAY uses the following providers to run the Service. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase: push notifications, crash reporting, and app analytics
- Mapbox: maps, directions, and traffic (receives location and route coordinates)
- Stripe: paid club memberships and payouts to club owners
- RevenueCat: URWAY Pro subscription management
- Google Play and Apple App Store: subscription billing
- Google and Facebook: optional sign-in
- AWS: servers and storage
- Squarespace: domains and DNS
Retention
URWAY may retain information as reasonably necessary for:
- Account operation
- Security
- Fraud prevention
- Investigations
- Legal compliance
- Backup systems
- Enforcement of Terms
When you delete your account, URWAY deletes or anonymizes your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or payment reasons (for example, payout records for 7 years). Posts you made in clubs may remain with your name removed. Crash and analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Reports and logs may be retained for safety and investigative purposes.
User Controls
- Edit your profile: in the app, Profile → Edit Profile
- Delete your account: in the app, Profile → Delete Account; at driveurway.com/delete-account; or by emailing info@driveurway.com
- Location: turn off location permission in your phone’s settings at any time. Navigation and group rides need it to work
- Notifications: turn off in the app or in your phone’s settings
- Subscriptions: cancel in your Google Play or App Store settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription
Security
URWAY uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on your device. No system is perfectly secure. Report a security concern to info@driveurway.com.
Children
URWAY is intended for people aged 18 and over. URWAY does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a minor has an account, contact info@driveurway.com.
URWAY does not authorize underage driving or unlawful vehicle operation.
State Rights
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, and other states with privacy laws may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of their personal information, and may appeal a denial. Email info@driveurway.com to make a request. URWAY will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Changes
URWAY may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the app or by email before a material change takes effect.
